Instructions to Authors

General

Dryland Research and Management (DRM) published articles online quarterly in the different fields of  engineering. State-of-art contributions with high quality writing up and organization are encouraged. Publications processing takes usually from 2 to 3 months with no charging fees.



Manuscript Style and Submission

  1. Submitted manuscripts should not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere while they considered for publication by Dryland Research and Management (DRM).

  2. The language of the Journal is English at a font size of 12. All submissions must have a relatively short title with manuscript presented in single columns, double-line spacing and margins of 25 mm all round. Line numbering per page must be provided at the left side of the manuscript.
  3. The maximum count of words in submitted papers is 6000 including tables and figures. Each main Figure or Table is counted as 200 words. Figures and Tables shall be listed at the end of the manuscript. The limit set on the paper size cannot be violated unless authorized by the editor-in-chief.
  4. Supply a summary of up to 200 words for the articles. This is a concise dynamic summary of the whole paper that reflects objectives, methodology, and major findings (with the most important numerical data reported). It should contain no abbreviations or citations to other published work.
  5. Include up to six key words that describe your paper for indexing purposes.
  6. Figures and Tables shall be submitted in the proper sizes that provide clarity to the reader and serves the purpose. Tables should have fonts >10 times new roman. The Figures should be originals (excel generated preferred) and not pictures. Do not copy and paste the figure. The figure should appear in the text as an editable Excel chart. All fonts in the Figures should be >10 times new roman. Number of Figures should not exceed 12.
  7. The title of the paper should not contain unfamiliar abbreviations and must not exceed 12 main words (> 3 letters). A short title of no more than 5 words must be provided upon submission.
  8. Blind manuscript shall be submitted for review purposes (paper title with no names for the authors). Upon acceptance of the paper, the title page must contain the full title and the names and affiliations of all authors including full address, e- mail, telephone and fax, of the corresponding author.
  9. Include the name(s) of any sponsor(s) of the research contained in the paper at the end of the manuscript.



Authors must supply

  1. An electronic copy of the paper uploaded in word or PDF format at the submission page. Author should keep record of the paper's number and password (account login information) to be able to access the paper account to follow on the review process and upload documents (when requested).
  2. Permission grants (from the owners of the publishing rights) if the manuscript contains extracts (illustrations, and Tables) from other copyright works including material from on-line or internet sources. It will be the author's responsibility to obtain such a written permission and submit at the end of the manuscript.
  3. A copyright transfer agreement with original signature(s) by the corresponding author on behalf of all authors is requested upon the final acceptance of the paper, not before.
  4. A link to the ORCID account is to be provided in the affiliation of all authors of JJCE articles starting January 1, 2023.



Reference Style

To cite sources in the text, use the author-date method; list the last names of the authors, then the year. The formats are as follows: one author -(Smith 2004); two authors -(Smith and Jones 2004); three or more authors-(Smith et al. 2004). Prepare a reference section listing all references alphabetically by last name of the first author. For anonymous reports and standards, alphabetize by the issuing institution.
